Vreelin Engineering develops cutting edge FPGA IP for both Altera and Xilinx with a special emphasis on USB IP. Vreelin provides not only the IP HDL, but supporting firmware and software - including Windows device drivers where appropriate. Vreelin's goal is to provide the FPGA designer with a complete solution.

For example, with the USB 2.0 High-Speed device interfaces, the Vreelin IP packages includes not only the HDL, but logo certified firmware for the device interface IP, working Windows XP device driver for the PC, and demo applications for both the USB device side and the PC side of the USB connection. These demos serve as a useful starting point for the USB portion of a designer's project. The Windows XP device driver exposes all 7 user endpoints to Ring 3 application space and will support many modes of USB operation.

At only 750 slices in Xilinx and 1500 LE's in Altera, the Vreelin USB 2.0 device interface is the world's smallest USB device core. In the same space taken up by the competition, there is room for the Vreelin USB device interface plus a small Microblaze or NIOS 2 system. Complete firmware and a Windows XP device driver are included.
The Vreelin USB 2.0 device interface is USB Implementer's Forum logo certified as a High-Speed USB 2.0 device on both Altera and Xilinx platforms.
